Talk about a whirlwind! Our favorite rock queens have barely had a moment to breathe since their spectacular Eesti Laul win. In an exclusive video link with 'Ringvaade,' the band revealed that they hopped on a plane to Chile almost immediately after the finale to participate in the legendary Viña del Mar International Song Festival. Piret Järvis-Milder admitted they didn't even have time to process their Estonian victory until they finally sat down together for a celebratory toast in South America. In a touching twist of fate, they ran into last year’s winner, Tommy Cash, at the Paris airport—a heartwarming 'passing of the torch' moment that felt like the perfect omen for their upcoming journey.
This isn't the band's first time in Chile; they previously graced this massive stage 18 years ago. Viña del Mar is the largest music festival in Latin America, and it operates quite differently from Eurovision. The girls explained that the competition involves performing the same song over multiple days, with points from the jury and the public being aggregated to determine who moves forward. Most excitingly, the Ninjas are competing with a brand-new track written by Sven Lõhmus titled 'Are You Ready To Go?'. According to Lenna, this song is worlds apart from their Eurovision anthem, while Piret teased that it is much more 'rock-heavy,' offering a refreshing change of pace for the trio.
Kerli Kivilaan noted that while the workload in Chile is intense, the cultural exchange is fascinating. From observing the unique television direction to experiencing the massive scale of the production, the band is soaking up every moment. Lenna emphasized that performing on such a legendary stage provides invaluable experience and 'indelible memories' that will surely fuel their confidence as they head toward Vienna. Even from thousands of miles away, the Ninja spirit is stronger than ever! It's truly a global takeover, and we couldn't be more proud of our girls representing Estonia on two different continents at once.
