As we count down the days to the grand finale in February, the road to Eurovision 2026 has taken a hilarious and heartwarming turn! Throughout January, the Eesti Laul finalists have been stopping by the 'Terevisioon' morning show to give us acoustic or alternative versions of their tracks. But the absolute highlight for any true Vanilla Ninja devotee was seeing our girls' own partners take the stage to cover 'Too Epic to Be True.' In a brilliant comedic twist, Karl-Erik Taukar, Lauri Mäesepp, and Egert Milder formed a one-off 'boy band' dubbed Chocolate Samurai to perform a unique rendition of the Ninjas' winning entry.
It’s not every day you see a 'support group' this talented! The chemistry between the trio—who are, of course, the significant others of our beloved Lenna, Katrin, and Piret—brought a completely fresh (and slightly cheeky) energy to the song. While Vanilla Ninja’s original version is a powerful rock-pop anthem, the Chocolate Samurai version gave us a glimpse into the fun, supportive atmosphere surrounding the band this year. It’s clear that the whole family is behind this Eurovision bid, and having Karl-Erik Taukar—who is also hosting the finale—join in on the musical fun just adds to the hype for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna.
Other finalists like Getter Jaani, Noep, and Ollie also delivered impressive studio performances, but none captured the headlines quite like this 'Ninja-family' crossover. While a couple of acts like Stockholm Cowboys and Uliana didn’t perform live in the studio, their tracks are still available for streaming on Jupiter. This 'Terevisioon' tradition is such a great way to see the versatility of the artists, and seeing the Ninjas' hit through the eyes of their partners makes us love the song even more. February 14th can't come soon enough—we are ready to see the real deal take the crown!
